Customize the Puzzle Size
Customize your puzzle by changing the size of the blocks, the puzzle width or the puzzle height.
- Change the size of the puzzle by clicking on the Advanced tab within the Puzzle Editor.
Make a simple puzzle with large letter blocks.
- Set the Puzzle Width and Height to smaller numbers.
- You can see that the "Maximum Block Size"(on the right) increases as the puzzle width/height get smaller.
- Choose a new Desired Block Size that is less than or equal to the "Maximum Block Size".
- Note: If you choose a Desired Block Size that is too large, Crossword Forge will create the largest one it can. The actual block size can be seen in "Actual Block Size" on the right side of your window.
Make a puzzle with longer words.
- Set the puzzle width and height to larger numbers (e.g. if Puzzle Width =25 and Puzzle Height = 17, the puzzle will not be able to accomodate words longer than 25 letters).
- Crossword Forge will automatically reduce the block size (seen in "Actual Block Size") to fit on the page.
Make a puzzle to fit in a smaller space.
- Reduce the desired block size
- and/or Reduce the Puzzle Width/Height
